Belief Statement

What are your beliefs about teaching and learning with technology? Describe how technology has supported learning in classrooms you have observed.

I feel that teaching with technology can greatly help my students. I didn’t have computers to work on until high school and even then it was one class and we didn’t do a whole lot. My typing skills are lacking as well, but I am improving. I am amazed at how fast kids can pick things up when it comes to computers. I think it is great for kids to be able to look up information on the internet and play interactive learning games too.

The downside to computers in the classrooms is that kids might be able to find things on the internet that they shouldn’t see. It is also making it so that students writing and spelling is suffering because they don’t need to use those skills anymore with the computer.

I have not seen a whole lot of computers used in the classroom by the students, but I see the teachers using quite a bit. I see them especially the document cameras and the microphones. I think sending emails to the parents to keep them updated on their students progress is a great idea.

  1. Good job. Technology is very engaging for younger learners and they pick it up very quickly. I wish I had a microphone around my neck. It is challenging to project.
