Based on your learning experience in the LifeSaver lesson, describe the attributes of inquiry learning.
Students may think what is going to happen, but without inquiry learning, they can only assume. I think that students truly learn when they get their hands on something physical or can relate it to something in their own lives. During our LifeSaver inquiry learning assignment, we made predictions about what we thought would happen with the LifeSavers. We then performed our tests and recorded our results. We included visuals in the form of a chart and a PowerPoint to help further our understanding of our experiment.
I believe all of the steps made it a more powerful lesson. I can more easily remember the assignment because it was reiterated in so many ways. Plus all of the visual aids were what really stuck in my mind. This is one of the reasons I really enjoy science. You get to hypothesize, then find out what the real results are.
